Claire Elise Boucher was born on March 17, 1988. She is known as Grimes. [2][3] Early work is described as "lo-fi R&B to futuristic dance-pop",[4which draws influences from hip-hop, electronic, and rock. The lyrics of her songs often address gender issues and science fiction. Five studio albums have been issued by her. She was raised and born in Vancouver (later relocated in Montreal), Grimes began releasing music independently in the late 2000s, releasing two albums, Geidi Primes as well as Halfaxa In 2010, she released her first album through Arbutus Records. Following her joining 4AD, she rose in popularity with Visions which was her third album on the studio. Visions contains the singles "Genesis" and "Oblivion" which won her an award called the Juno Award in Canada for Electronic Album of the year. Her fourth studio album Art Angels was released in the year 2015. It received high praise from reviewers and numerous publications voted it the best album. In 2020, she dropped Miss Anthropocene (her fifth studio album). Grimes has also been an actor and judge in Alter Ego's music contests, was singer as part of Cyberpunk 2077 which was released 2020.
